Robert de Mello recently presented "Understanding Financial Transmission Rights" to the largest turnout of any web cast offered by EnergyCentral. Using a very simple system to illustrate the energy settlement of a load (the consumer) and generation (the supplier), Bob gave the participants an intuitive sense of the motivation behind financial transmission rights without the complications that are found in real power systems. The hour long web cast included a 15 minute question and answer segment that indicated people were itching for more. At the end of the web cast, Bob signed off with 22 additional questions requiring his expertise; he followed up via email.
